back from the NC

Hi again folks. I'm back from North Carolina. It was a good time, but it's good to be back.

Have you ever been to North Carolina? I haven't. It's pretty much the same...except different. Got it? Cool.

I got a biscuit from Bojangles. I was told I had to. I swear, it was NOT a decision I came to on my own. I WANTED to go to Biscuitville but I heard the "ville" was NOT the place to get biscuits. Bojangles is THE place for biscuit.

I hate to say this...but it tasted like a biscuit. It was good...but I am not sure as to why it is THE biscuit to get.

Quizno's was great! I liked them. That's not a southern place though....

OH!!!! If a place tells you they have gourmet sandwiches and can't tell you what gourmet means, BE CAUTIOUS! If you've been there...you'll understand. I don't want to badmouth the place, but I was not impressed.

Hmmmm....what else....ahhhh...If you want REALLY good food, then get some of my mom's manicotti. I think she has a bunch left over.

That's about all I can say about my trip. Oh...One more thing. You can get frozen custard. I don't know what that means. It's like a soft ice cream. It is also good. I think it's Goodberry's.

Ok. I'm done talking about food from NC.

I'm off to look up the word gourmet...I have a letter to write.

Enjoy!

sweater day

In honor of Mr. Rogers' Birthday it is National Sweater Day!

I got my outfit ready last night. Would you like to see my "Won't you be my neighbor?" photo?

What a dork! Can you identify all the things in this picture? Under the couch you can see Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit and Kerplunk! On the right is a Spider-Man blanket and behind me is a teddy bear named Thor and a meerkat named Yossarian. In the middle is a goofy looking guy with a shoe and a sweater.

I got all ready by putting on a short-sleeve button up shirt and a black tie. I felt like my high school physics teacher. I won't say his name, but that's what he used to wear. He was a great teacher. He let me do comic book physics. That's probably why I don't actually understand it.

So...get your sweater on!!!!!

I'll be gone for a few days but I'll see you all again on Tuesday.

I'm off to the land of make-believe.

Enjoy!

green day

I gotta say...I never quite understood St. Patrick's Day. Now, that MIGHT be because I don't drink. I'm not sure. I will tell you, the people I know who enjoy drinking DON'T need a reason to go to the bar. They'll just go.

So...what good has come from St. Paddy's Day? Leprechauns and Fairies!!!!!

It seems they come out to play on St. Patrick's Day. And they don't throw rocks at you like freaky gnomes in South America.

Nope. Leprechauns just like to goof off and dance. They also like going on hikes. They all have this shela...shalele...shileli...stick to help them with their hiking. They'll hike to the top of a mountain and then start to dance when, magically, a group of women start playing fiddles around him. It's really a rare and amazing sight.

If you try to take a picture, it comes out looking like a rainbow. Seriously! That's how the fairy magic-stuff works! The fairies hang out to make sure there is no actual footage. They throw their fairy dust (not Prairie Dust like at Longhorn's) all around to keep the secret.

So, if you bump into a leprechaun today, tell him to have a wonderful hike. If you see some fairies, ask them to toss a little fairy dust on you. They love doing that. It actually doesn't do much to humans. Fairy dust just screws up electronic equipment. So, whenever the TV or radio or computer breaks, it's probably because a fairy came by and dropped some dust on it.

Don't get mad! It's not like they knew this thousands of years ago when they invented fairy dust! They most high-tech equipment they had was the rock! Sheesh. Give them a break.

It's not known by many, but they DID try to change the fairy dust formula in the early 80's. People's 8-tracks and ataris were getting screwed up, so the fairies tried to switch things up. It was about as successful as New Coke. So...they went back to the original formula. Thank goodness they did! Do you remember the styles and hair???? That was because of screwed up fairy dust! Good thing that's over!

And good thing this post is over!

I'm off to dance with the fairies!

Enjoy!

weird day

I knew from the beginning that this would be a weird day. You may have heard this morning that my coffee cup was making a strange sound. It was odd.

Then I find this!!!!
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article902014.ece

Tell me that isn't freaky!!!!

It's been one of those days. I'm just going to ignore the rest of the day and dream of wookie cookies with hopes that I can make it to tomorrow.

Short post today, but I NEEDED to get the word out on that gnome.

I'm off to alert Travelocity...I think their employee is disgruntled.

Enjoy!

wookie cookie

I'm sure you'd be surprised to find out that I like Star Wars.

"NOOOOOOOO!!!!!" you say.

It's true. I love the Star Wizzle. That's what we call it on the street. Or...on the parsec.

Anyways, I was looking for some Star Wars comic books on amazon.com and found something cool. If you do a search for Star Wars, there will be a bunch of sub-categories on the left. Right below comic books is cook books. YES! STAR WARS COOK BOOKS!!!!!!!

Let me tell you about some of the great things you can make for that special Star Wars fan in your life. Boba Fett-uccini, Hoth Chocolate, Wookie Cookies, Yoda Soda, Sandtrooper Sandies, Tuskan Raider Taters, Han-Burgers, Qui Gon Jinn-ger Snaps and so many more!!!!!

How awesome is this idea! I was so excited when I found this. I want to make fun Star Wars names for all my food now. I don't know what to use, but it would make food so much more fun.

They made 2 of these books! I know! You thought one was enough, but clearly it wasn't! They even have a party book. Yes...so you can have your very own Star Wars party...hint, hint...remember, my birthday is only 8 months away!

OR! Maybe WMAS should have a Star Wars party. I mean, we have one for the summer, halloween, and valentine's day so why not star wars? Let's start the petition.

Well, I'm done being a geek for today. If you don't like star wars...well...I'm sure they make other cook books...but they probably stink...and have doofy names of food like profiterole....BOOOOOOOORING!!!!!!

I'm off to get some Greedo Burritos.

Enjoy!

my moves will be so hot, you'll have to stand under the fan

HA! That's a line from a "Hello, Goodbye" song. It always makes me laugh.

This morning we were talking about some of the cockiest things that people in music said and I HAD to repeat something that David Lee Roth said.

"If you put a Van Halen album in your record collection, it will melt all the rest of your records."

How sweet is that line!!!! It's totally something I would say, though I wouldn't actually mean it.

It made me laugh because in my last post I talked about Guitar Hero. After I was done playing, I gave the guitar (or my "axe") back to one of the kids. I said, "Be careful, I don't want you to burn your hands." Implying that my playing was so hot, I almost melted the guitar. It was not actually that hot.

I love phrases like that. I have to say that the David Lee Roth quote is probably one of the best, but if you can think of any or just make some up, I'd love to hear them.

Like, "It's a tough life when you look so good. Sometimes when I walk down the street, people just burst into flames because I'm so hot."

I like how most of them have to do with things being "so hot" that they will melt stuff, burn stuff or require a fan. Ahhh...to be a rock star.

I'm off to burn up the stage.

Enjoy!

you rock!

That has a dual meaning today. Thank you for helping us out again this year for the CMN Radiothon. We had a great year.

ALSO! "You Rock" is the message I got playing Guitar Hero on PlayStation. I'm not too hip with the video games. I don't have time with all the comic books I read. Yeah. I'm old-fashioned. BUT I did hang out on the play deck at the hospital and played Guitar Hero for the first time. It was AWESOME!

It's really fun. It's not like playing real guitar at all, but it's still great. You have to tap buttons to match up with the buttons when they pass by on the screen. I got the new high score!

So, if anybody was to ever question whether I rock or not. It is now official. I do, in fact, ROCK! Ain't no thang...it's just what I do.

Seriously, though, I looked like a complete dork playing it. I was jumping around pretending I was really playing a rock show. Trust me...on stage, it's cool, in a hospital, you look like a geek jumping around getting too involved in a video game. Ah well...at least the game thinks I rock.

I'm off to get back to my job. What do I do, you ask???? Why, I rock!!!! I just do the radio thing to make money...ok...well it's not much, but it buys me food. If only rockin' paid at all....

Enjoy!
